New Cars Still Through Scrappage Scheme
by admin
The famous scrappage scheme under which lots of new cars were ordered and bought is to be extended. This news has been welcomed with enthusiasm on the side of both drivers and car producers who have advocated the extension for a long time. The scheme was in action from May this year and was intended to end either in February 2010 or when the budget ran out. And the second ending option started to emerge. Until now, the scrappage scheme has helped to boost the production of new cars with nearly 230 thousand orders, stimulate the motor industry and market, create some new jobs and make a considerable number of drivers happier. As stated by the government, the scheme would be extended with an aim of covering around one hundred thousand new cars and vans.
Follow up:
This extension means that a total sum of 400 million pounds will have been committed to the scheme. The business fact is that the scrappage aid will finish in February 2010 anyway. Some modifications are going to be entered to the scheme as well and they regard the age qualification. The money from government for purchasing new cars will go to drivers who registered their cars before 29 of February 2000 or their vans are at least eight years old.
